Michael Goodson, newly arrived at CCAD from New York City, has assembled an exhibition pairing diverse work by ten of the school’s faculty, for example:
• A deconstruction of William Tecumseh Sherman’s War is Hell speech, literally word for word, dispersed throughout contemporary Lancaster for people to find and keep, juxtaposed with an installation reflecting a personal history of a childhood in rural Ohio.
Michael Goodson: “Putting together this exhibition has been an affirmation of the great work being done in my new home town. In the end, the exhibition is a meditation on the harmony that is created when we share a starting and a finishing point and the dissonance that pushes us along the path in between.”
