Three Voices: Conversations on Life and Conflict

3 Ohio Women Artists in Watercolor, Oil & Porcelain

May 20  –  August 13, 2017

Ohio artists Judith Brandon, Cleveland; Leslie Shiels, Cincinnati and Carol Snyder, Columbus use a lush media mix of watercolor, oil and porcelain to give us experiences to reflect on and help connect our lives to the natural world – as only art can do. Their conversations guide us as we attempt to work through controversy in our cultural and global environments. The artists first collaborated in 2016, in an exhibition presented by the Canton Museum of Art, Canton, Ohio.

Ohio artists Judy Brandon, Leslie Shiels and Carol Snyder, each with defining voices in both images and words, bring their thoughts, concerns and life experiences to our attention through watercolor, oil and porcelain creations.

The conversations by these women focus on life and conflict. An illusion of nature is fabricated and becomes the vehicle to conjure secrets within the realms of their imaginations. They are looking for visual threads to sew eras, cultures and peoples together; to tie our lives with our natural world—creating a life experience for you to reflect upon.

As all of us face the world today and attempt to work through controversy in our environment, both cultural and global, their work, as only art can do, will have a conversation with us that is both envisioning and contemplative in numerous ways, to our own lives.
