This workshop, presented by award-winning author and editor Tracey Dils, will give participants an overview of children’s publishing. Tracey will cover the various categories of children’s books and what the requirements are for each. She will also reveal what she knows as an insider about the marketplace for children’s books and how to approach publishers. If you have ever wanted to write children’s books but didn’t know how to get started, this workshop is for you. Individual critiques will be offered for a modest additional charge.
Tracey Dils is the author of over 50 books for young readers in a variety of genres—picture books, scary stories, beginning readers, nonfiction, and biography. She is the author of the best-selling how-to book, You Can Write Children’s Books. Before she launched her writing career, she acted as publisher for two major publishing houses. Her recent works include a 5-books series of counting books from Amicus Press and two workbook/activity books with Highlights for Children Press.
