French for open air, plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. Bring your own art supplies and come paint, sketch or just observe. This is not a formal class, but a chance to experience plein air painting with other artist and learn from each other. Come enjoy our county parks and your fellow artists in this special series.

Acrylic paint is one of the most versatile and easy to use mediums in the art world, perfect for both beginners and experienced artists. Its bright, vibrant colors, quick-drying properties and water-based nature make acrylic paint a really forgiving medium, allowing you to build layers, and make corrections.
In this six-week session, Carol will guide you through the basics of acrylic painting, covering materials, fundamental techniques, and helpful tips to get you started, from selecting the right brushes and painting surfaces to learning about color mixing.
