Max Barnard 
1884-1978 
Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga County 

A housepainter by trade, Barnard began painting pictures in the 1940s, often drawing on his own childhood for inspiration. He had an interest in Ohio’s Amish communities and painted a number of pictures depicting Amish daily life and activities. Barnard also built birdhouses, doll furniture, weathervanes, and other items. He created over 2,000 works.
