On Saturday, April 1, 9am-4pm you can take Donalee Kennedy's Improv Machine Piecing Workshop!
Donalee Kennedy is a student of Nancy Crow and an artist in her own right.
Get to know Donalee Kennedy in her own words:
"I'm best known for my textural and colorful fine art quilts for the wall, created mostly from solid color cotton fabrics. By working in an abstract improv style, I build each piece with skills a structural engineer might employ. Influenced by the great traditional quilters of the past, with one big difference; I work without patterns or templates. My work reflects my energetic enthusiasm, and passion and is known to be dynamic and engaging. “My unexpected results come from my improvisational style that allows me to respond immediately to what is happening right in the moment that I’m working. No two pieces are ever alike.”
Extra bits….
I’m a textile artist who loves to design, make, sell and teach. I'm passionate about my art. I have strong leadership qualities. I'm goal-oriented and very decisive. I take my art seriously, but not myself… and oh, I like to goof around sometimes! Example below; me doing the happy dance because I get to make Art every day! "
